Babita lives in Cambridgeshire, UK and is qualified and certified to coach in nutrition under the internationally recognised Royal Society of Public Health (mRSPH) register.
In 2022 she undertook additional training and has subsequently qualified to become a Menopause Experts Champion and Trainer with the award winning Menopause Experts Group.
Ever since a young girl, she has been challenged by maintaining a healthy weight.
From a shy child facing perpetual puppy fat to then obsessing with exercise and diet from her late teens to her 20’s in an unhealthy fashion, she subsequently yoyoed back to being seriously overweight by her early 30’s.
She then hit rock bottom with a bout of anxiety and depression coupled with serious undereating (2010-12).
The weight did return to well above her ideal body mass index (BMI) in her early to mid 40’s…
She is not unfamiliar with the yoyo diets that keep many people trapped with a broken metabolism.
In 2017 aged 44 Babita was 35lbs overweight (2.5 stones), and suddenly single after a relationship breakdown – not an ideal place to be. It wasn’t until seeking professional medical assistance that was she helped to realise that she had probably been living with an undiagnosed underactive thyroid for several years and was in an unsuitable and damaging relationship for many years slowly triggering full-blown anxiety.
Thankfully for her, the doctor sympathised with her request to avoid medication of any kind (thyroxine and low-dose anti-depressants**) and she propelled herself into the world of natural healing, self-discovery, interest in mental health recovery, the right exercise for thyroid health, lymph drainage and upgrading and improving her nutrition under his supervision whilst maintaining regular blood tests.
Within 8 months, thyroid levels were back to normal and have remained normal.
Within 18 months her weight reduced to the healthy range for a mid-40s 4’11” woman!
This has greatly inspired family and friends. She had proven that the body has an intelligence that wants you to be healthy, that wants you to be happy, your body wants to support you to thrive not just survive!

Now, with her mid-century birthday fast approaching and in the throws of ‘Perimenopause’ new challenges have arisen; aching joints, particularly feet, ankles, knees and lower back and shoulders, more easily fatigued, changes in body composition, brain fog and short-term memory loss, fumbling over words, and huge amounts of self-doubt have all crept in.
New struggles meant new tactics. Babita joined #MEG (Menopause Experts Group) to initially learn about her symptoms and now to go on and empower and help other women in this confusing and challenging time.
